Choosing a wedding photographer can be hard. I understand that. Simply typing the words 'wedding photography' into Google and you are inundated with lists and lists of potential photographers who can offer their services for your big day. How do you go about shortlisting a photographer that can capture the day in a way that you would like I hear you ask?
Well my best advice is always to choose a photographer that you feel comfortable with. As a female wedding photographer working in a heavily male dominated industry, we are a rare breed indeed. A female photographer understands what Brides want from their wedding day and can relate to the agonising decisons that Brides have made to make sure that your wedding day is perfect. Whilst male photographers can take beautiful photographs of shoes and flowers, what sets women apart is that a man can't appreciate a pair of wedding shoes in the same way as another female! There have been many ocassions where I have had serious wedding shoe envy I can tell you!
Personally, I love talking weddings, I am genuinely excited to hear about your wedding day. I enjoy talking colour schemes, photo ideas, flower choices and all things wedding related. I got married 12 years ago and I simply loved the planning process. It was amazing from start to finish and I loved nothing more than the build up to the wedding day. I understand as your wedding photographer, I am part of that build up to your big day. An essential ingredient in capturing your hopes and dreams for your married lives together, which I hope to be able to document.
We all worry about our appearances, its human nature and I understand that every Bride wants to look their radiant best on their wedding day. Not only can a female photographer ensure that the Bride looks her best, its the little things like noticing a stray strap is out of place or spotting a piece of confetti is caught in your hair. I am known for carrying a small a bag of emergency essentials from hairspray, tissues, scissors - all those little things that you might need on your big day. It is my intention to help you enjoy your wedding day, to relax in my company and to trust me. This way you can be sure to receive a set of beautiful photographs from your day, a relaxed bride makes for a relaxed set of wedding photographs.
From individual portraits before the ceremony all the way through to the first dance, I recognise that every couple's wedding day is unique and I work tirelessly to create a photographic record that tells your wedding love story.
